The essay is an analytical compare
and contrast essay between Mockingjay and the song of your choice.
The introduction of the essay needs
to include a brief background of the book and the song and incorporate a
thorough thesis statement.
The body of the essay must be a
minimum of 3 paragraphs and needs to use quotes and lyrics from the book and
song. There must be analysis that demonstrates the meaning and likeness or
difference between the two. There need to be at least 3 examples of
similarities and 2 examples of differences.
The conclusion must be well-written
and tie the entire essay together.
Grading will be based on GSP,
content, quality of thesis and analysis of meaning.

the themes and meaning behind the book and song.
Your group can create a drawing, painting,
sculpture, or a combination of these to convey the message/s of the book and
song.
It needs to be WELL-DONE!
A minimum of 32cm x 24cm
A one paragraph explanation of the
piece will be turned in as well. It must be typed.
Music Video or Movie
Trailer- 300 pts.
Due Monday, February 2nd
Using the song of your choice in the
background, create a well-edited, well-acted, and quality music video or movie
trailer about Mockingjay.
The video must be between 3 minutes –
6 minutes long. If you use existing footage, it may only take up 1.5 minutes of
video time, and the rest must be all original.
It needs to coordinate with the book
and with the song, and it needs to flow well and convey the message of the
book.
